Sacred Heart School is blazing a new path with innovative ideas in academics, extracurricular activities and childcare — all the while living and sharing the “Good News.” On one end of the spectrum is our thriving three-year-old program, which is expanding every year to fulfill a growing need in the community for educationally based childcare. On the far end, our single-sex Middle School has proven to be a most valuable innovation. We’ve witnessed big strides in academic performance, especially in math and science, from our older students.

This academic year, we implemented standards-based learning throughout the school. Students now take an active role in their own education. At the beginning of each unit, students see exactly what needs to be learned, how the skill or subject can best be inculcated and what the ultimate benefits are. An array of teaching methods are employed to ensure that we meet students’ unique learning styles. Various types of assessment, both objective and subjective, assure each student that he/she is accomplishing the desired goals.
