Sacred Heart Storytellers

“The children are supported within an exceptionally strong academic environment.”

Lee Blasi was struck by the quality and creativity of the recent 4th grade state fair. It brought her right back to her own days at Sacred Heart School — and recalled the spirit that prevailed when her own children attended the school. The determined commitment of the faculty and staff to each child’s success has remained a constant. Currently the Director of Constituent Services for Boston City Councilor Rob Consalvo, Lee cites the enduring openness, safety and family connection as qualities that set Sacred Heart School apart.

“My fourth grade teacher was about five feet ten inches tall and weighed all of two hundred pounds. She was always wearing a smile, and loved snowball fights with the boys in the schoolyard.”

Buddy Roche remembers a “very fortunate childhood” at Sacred Heart School. Back in the 1940s, Sacred Heart (called St. Francis Xavier School) was the center of a thriving community and “the beginning of a great life. Today, I visit the school and see these special children and think about the pride their families have in them. It’s an amazingly special place.”

Mr. Roche and his brothers founded the first Roche Brothers grocery store in 1952 in Roslindale. He is proud to be an alum of Sacred Heart School, and to have survived the snowball fights with Sister Januaria.

“We draw diagrams of human cells and learn all about the anatomy of the eye.”
Justin is having a busy 7th grade year. An aspiring doctor/researcher, he is mastering pre-algebra formulas, studying atomic fusion theory and playing his flute in the all-state Honor Band. Justin is one of

Sacred Heart School’s energetic, curious, multi-dimensional achievers. All Sacred Heart students receive the highest quality academic training in a safe, challenging environment that fosters big dreams.

“I love reading chapter books and doing subtraction with big numbers.”
Junnell dreams of becoming a nurse and bringing aid to the peoples of Africa. A first grader, she is one of Sacred Heart School’s energetic, compassionate, globally minded achievers. All Sacred Heart students receive the highest quality academic training in a nurturing, safe environment that fosters big dreams.
