State-of-the-Art STEM Education

Choosing Sacred Heart STEM School to educate your scholar means that you have chosen the first K-8 school in the City of Boston to have infused STEM throughout the curriculum. STEM equals higher scholar achievement and academic growth, evidenced by the success our scholars have on Archdiocesan standardized testing and benchmarking as well as the High School Placement Test (HSPT).

By blending inquiry-based learning into the curriculum, your scholar will have an educational advantage for the entrance to high school, and throughout the rest of their life.

Our Curriculum

Sacred Heart STEM School educates our scholars through multiple subjects, such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, Technology, and Foreign Language. Although we are a STEM school, our humanities programs allow scholars to express themselves through various forms of art and creativity. If you would like to learn more about our special subjects, please visit the resources tab below.

A Guide to STEM

stem

At Sacred Heart, STEM is the backbone of our curriculum. Its principles and procedures are integrated throughout all subject areas, rather than serving as a “stand-alone” subject. All major corporations have expressed the need for skilled employees. Statistics show most schools are not preparing scholars with the necessary skills for future success. Those skills are called the 21st Century skills, and they include critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. Nothing sharpens and develops those skills more than a STEM curriculum.

Some high school preparatory STEM skills your scholar will be developing include:
  • Navigating a 3D printer
  • Coding & HTML
  • Digital modeling
  • Robotics based studies
  • Navigating engineering and technology-based programming
...And many more!
